On the 14th of March 2026, the CLR Team
visited the Makause Informal Settlement in Germiston, South Africa — a place
where more than 30,000 people live in extreme poverty, many in conditions
almost impossible to imagine.
This is the reality for families here. Homes
built from corrugated metal. Limited access to basic services. And a community
surviving day to day with extraordinary resilience.
As the CLR Foundation team arrived, we were
welcomed by two remarkable women who run small day‑care centers — safe spaces
where local children spend their days while their parents search for work.
We brought toys for over a hundred children,
and witnessing their excitement was deeply moving. In the midst of hardship,
their laughter and joy reminded us of the power of small acts of kindness.
One of the most heartbreaking moments was
seeing where the babies sleep — on the floor, with no cots, no prams, no
mattresses. These little ones deserve so much more.
The older children play soccer on a dusty open
field, without goalposts or grass, yet they play with pride and spirit. Even
with so little, they find joy in the game.
Standing among the children of Makause, we
were reminded of the importance of community, compassion, and action. Their
humility, their smiles, and their strength left a deep impact on all of us.
This is why we are asking for your help. Your contribution — no matter how small — can make a real, tangible
difference for these children. Together, we can provide safe sleeping spaces for babies, better facilities
for day‑care centers, and basic necessities for families who need them most.
Join us in supporting the most vulnerable. Let’s give the children of
Makause the hope and dignity they deserve.

Every act of kindness builds a bridge where walls once stood.
We often think kindness is small.
A simple word. A brief gesture. A moment of care.
But kindness is never insignificant.
It travels further than we expect.
It reaches places we cannot see.
It softens hearts we may never meet again.
Where there is fear, kindness creates safety.
Where there is hurt, kindness creates healing.
Where there is division, kindness creates connection.
It turns strangers into neighbours.
It turns distance into closeness.
It turns loneliness into belonging.
Each kind act becomes a plank in a bridge —
quietly laid, one by one, across the spaces that separate us.
Across misunderstanding.
Across pain.
Across difference.
And sometimes, we are not the ones who cross that bridge —
but we are the ones who help build it for someone else.
So choose kindness, even when it feels unnoticed.
Even when it feels small.
Even when it feels slow.
Because bridges are not built in a single moment —
they are built through steady, loving acts over time.
And every time you choose kindness,
you help someone find their way across.
