Inspiring Serenity

The man in the moon climbed above the eastern horizon and smiled brightly from the cool indigo-blue sky of early evening. His soft beams illuminated an array of polished granite boulders scattered across a far-reaching mountain meadow. Pinpoints of light began to dot the horizon, and a city gradually appeared on the earth's floor thousands of feet below. I positioned my camera, tracked the moon’s ascent for several minutes, and captured the scene to take home.

After returning to my vehicle, I realized how inspiring this experience had been; it had brought a deep calmness and serenity. The moon had illuminated the evening landscape temporarily, and had given me an indelible spiritual gift.

The word inspiration reminds me of this calm serenity. When we hold awareness in spirit, positive changes take place that also affect us mentally and physically. Inspiration allows us to find a deep, calm center where serenity is plentiful.

Ask yourself: "What inspires me and brings me feelings of calmness, strength, and serenity when I need them the most?

An archaic definition of the word inspire is "to breathe life into". When you need serenity, look to those things that inspire you--places and activities that enliven your spirit. Our Creator has placed deeply within us a serenity and strength that we can access.

May you enjoy the calmness and serenity of all the brightest inspirations in your life!

"As difficult as it seems, you can be sure of this: At the core of the heart, you have the power to move beyond the old issues that are still hindering your freedom. The hardest things--the ones that push you up against your limits--are the very things you need to address to make a quantum leap into a fresh inner and outer life."

"The remarkable thing is that we really love our neighbor as ourselves: we do unto others as we do unto ourselves. We hate others when we hate ourselves. We are tolerant toward others when we tolerate ourselves. We forgive others when we forgive ourselves."
- Eric Hoffer

Be accountable for your thoughts, your emotions, and your realities. It's your life! Recognize and undo dis-integrative energies...The person or event you think, “causes" pain only surfaces what is yours and is already within you.
