Tuesday wisdom

Across the centuries, from Jesus, Lao Tsu & Buddha down to Rumi, Gandhi, Martin Luther King and the Dalai Lama, the core message of the wisest among us has been very simple. Keep your heart open. Don't judge others. Be kind.

This is the teaching passed down by our grandmothers, the way that LOVE enters into our world and nurtures new life. Our own hearts are the doorway, our own lives the path. 

Right here, right now, moment to moment. With everyone we meet, and all that we do. Be grateful, gentle and kind. Recognize that LIFE is a precious and sacred gift. 

And what the world needs now, more than anything, is more kindness, wisdom and LOVE...

"When awareness is focused on the body’s energy field (Ch’i or qi 氣 in Chinese), on breathing, slow movements or outward on the here and now, we feel more calm and peaceful. We can then experience a sense of being anchored and connected to the local landscapes of our Universe, more aware of what is happening both within us and around us, how our lives are moving in dynamic interdependence with everyone and everything else.

The result is a what the Chinese call “wu wei” (無爲) or non-doing, where you are more able to flow in synch with the local situational patterns of the moment, flowing with life, rather then trying to control or manipulate people and situations to fit the imposed “will” of illusory (and transitory) ego patterns and desires…"

Oh Great Spirit, bring to our brothers
the wisdom of Nature and the knowledge
that if her laws are obeyed
this land will again flourish
and grasses and trees will grow as before.

Guide those that through their councils seek
to spread the wisdom of their leaders to all people.
Heal the raw wounds of the earth
and restore to our soul the richness
which strengthens men's bodies
and makes them wise in their councils.

Bring to all the knowledge that great cities
live only through the bounty
of the good earth beyond their paved streets
and towers of stone and steel."
