Simply, “thank you Lord”
When was the last time you said “Thank You Lord“?
Often we are so busy we spend a small part of one day to give the Lord
our time—Saturday or Sunday—we go to ‘church’. Aside from that we rarely
give the Lord our attention and/or praise.
Try thanking Him during the hard times of life.
Yes, whatever you are going through thank the Lord. I remind you we are
not only looking at our present situation but our eternal salvation.
What we endure on earth in the flesh is temporary.
Remember the ten lepers that asked Jesus for mercy {Luke 17:11-19}, He told them to “go show yourselves to the priests“, and they were cleansed. How many of the ten let the Lord know that they were thankful for what was done?
Luke 17:15-19 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answered, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18 Was no one found who returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner. 19 And he said to him, Arise, go your way: your faith has made you well. (RKJNT)
Please do not be like the nine unthankful lepers,
remember to give the Lord praise. Thank Him for the eternal—the
everlasting—life that He promised.
A short prayer:
Father,
I thank you for each test and trial that you are taking us through.
Thank you for your goodness and mercy, for your word and Spirit that is
always with us to guide us. Thank you for your love, your joy, your
peace for allowing me to see another day in my right mind! In Jesus
name, amen.
Do you ever stop what you are doing and think of
the goodness of Jesus? Thinking of the times that you know without a
doubt that God stepped into your situation, moved on your behalf and
just start saying, “Thank you Lord”.
Knowing who He is; “Thank you Lord” because He did not have to do anything for you. I thank you Lord!
The following pairs Psalms 100 with other Scriptures to help us:
Psalms 100:1 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. (KJV)
Luke 19:37 And as he was coming near, at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; (RKJNT)
Serve and sing
Psalms 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. (KJV)
Acts 2:46-47 And they continued daily to assemble in the temple, and to break bread from house to house, and to eat their food with gladness and sincerity of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. (RKJNT)
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ be in you in all wealth of wisdom; teaching and helping one another with songs of praise and holy words, making melody to God with grace in your hearts. (BBE)
Thank the Creator
Psalms 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. (KJV)
Acts 17:24 The God who
made the world and all things in it, since he is Lord of heaven and
earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; (RKJNT)
Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (KJV)
Hebrews 13:15 So through Jesus we should never stop offering our sacrifice to God. That sacrifice is our praise, coming from lips that speak his name. (ERV)
He is good
Psalms 100:5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. (KJV)
1 Peter 2:3 You should want God’s word if you have already tasted and know that the Lord is good. (WE)
In conclusion
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. (RKJNT)
Be thankful and mindful of praise. The next time
something unpleasant happens, do as the above Scripture says, and ‘give
thanks in everything’. I do realize and understand there are times when
it is not easy to feel like praising the Lord or to put it simply to be
thankful. If you practice praising God it will get easier to rejoice
always—say “thank you Lord”—and be blessed—♥ Tim.
