Bab' Joseph doesn't cook, and he isn't on the holiday club roster. What he brings is a bakkie that's older than some of the volunteers.
At 70, he's done three parcel runs and two supply trips for the holiday club this week alone, mostly because the vegetables and sports gear don't walk themselves from the supplier to the hall.
His bakkie needs a jump-start most mornings and burns more diesel than anyone would like, but it's the only vehicle on hand, and he's made it clear he'd rather keep driving than watch a delivery get delayed.
He calls it "just lifts," like it's a small thing.
The holiday club's supply chain says otherwise.
