Township stories and realities - Kagiso and Naledi

Last Wednesday we asked for two more teenage reading buddies. Naledi, 16, walked in the next afternoon still in her school uniform.

She already reads with her little sister every night, she told us, so she figured she may as well do it for a few more kids. She's quieter than Sipho. She brings a pencil and lets the younger ones underline the words they get right, so they can see how many there are by the end.

Today was her first proper Wednesday. Kagiso decided within ten minutes that Naledi was "also allowed" to help her. From Kagiso, that's a big compliment.

We still have room for one more reading buddy aged 14 to 18. Message us if you know someone patient who likes kids.
