No child chooses the circumstances into which they are born.
Some children grow up with comfortable homes, nutritious meals, books, computers and opportunities.
Others grow up worrying about where their next meal will come from.
Some walk long distances to school. Some share a single room with several family members. Some have never experienced the simple luxury of having everything they need for a school day.
Yet every child has potential.
Every child has dreams.
And every child deserves an opportunity to discover what they can become.
We should never allow poverty to steal a child's future before it has even begun.
Education, encouragement and opportunity can change the direction of a young life.
