Peace - A fruit of the Spirit

“God’s kingdom has nothing to do with eating  or drinking. It is a matter of being right with God. It brings the peace and joy the Holy Spirit gives.”
Romans 14:17 (NIRV)

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 Gentleness, self-control: against such things there is no law. (RKJNT)

This peace, like all fruit of the Spirit, is unconditional and powerful. This peace is God’s gift to His children—Galatians 5:22—through the Holy Spirit. Philippians 4:7 says it is beyond understanding; it protects (guards or keeps) your hearts and minds (thoughts and feelings; YOU {humon}).

Jesus says…

The ‘fruit of the Spirit’ peace, eirene (ei-ray’-nay), is the peace that Jesus says is “not as the world gives“, it is His (God’s) peace John 14:27. This peace is not connected to possessions, income, education, intellect or human relationships. We cannot find this type of peace through anything other than the Spirit of God.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (RKJNT)

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (RKJNT)

My friends, be at peace with yourself and whatever situation you are in, allow God’s peace into your life experiences. This peace is being relaxed and content through Christ free from worry and fear.

In conclusion

What better words to close this lesson than found in Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious about nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (RKJNT)

Will you allow the peace of God to keep your heart and mind? Be blessed— Tim.

Question for ‘peace’: Are you at peace within your mind and heart?
