One Day at a Time

 There are two days in every week about which we should not worry--two days that should be kept free from fear and apprehension.  One of these days is yesterday with its mistakes and cares, faults and blunders, aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a  single act we performed. We cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone!

The other day we should not worry about is tomorrow.  Tomorrow's sun will rise, whether in splendor or behind a mask of clouds. Until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow. It is yet unborn.

This leaves only one day: today. It is when we add the burdens of two eternities - yesterday and tomorrow that we break down.

It is not necessarily the experience of today that disturbs one's peace of mind. It is often the bitterness for something that happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.

Let us, therefore, live one day at a time.

Every moment today is a priceless moment, and each one belongs to us to use as we choose.  Although not everything can be achieved in one day,  there is enough time today, to begin with, what we have. Today holds enough time to make a commitment to paint our personal life masterpieces - one brush stroke at a  time.

We were meant to enjoy life, to live completely, and to experience all the exciting opportunities and gifts we have been offered. We have all the time and tools needed to dedicate our lives to worthy ideals.

Each moment we move toward or away from any goal purely through our choices and actions. There will never be more time later than what there is now.

Inside each person, there are treasures he or she has never discovered. When we rush through the day without observing our thoughts with the eyes of the heart, we will overlook those treasures.

By using our time thoughtfully, expressing gratitude,  and extending love by sharing time with others, today's priceless moments will be wisely invested.
