Friday Wisdom

 



“The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.” — African proverb

It's a hard proverb, and it says something plain: kids need to belong to more than just their own household. 

A teacher who checks in twice, a neighbour who keeps an extra plate, a volunteer who remembers a name — that's what holding a child steady looks like in practice.

 Halfway through the week is a fair time to ask who in your own street might need that same kind of noticing.
