Let’s Grow and embrace life

Since I have been unemployed, I have spent a lot of time, trying to understand life and how to cope with situations  beyond my control. It has been an exhilarating six months so far. I probably will not be able to get another job here in South Africa, because of the high unemployment rate and the affirmative action policies. The probability of obtaining work as a white South African are almost zero. The Black Economic Empowerment laws favor the disadvantaged people above whites in the country.
However, I have made peace with my situation and surrendered to the present moment, although not working is a life-changing situation, but not the end of living. So many times, we hear of people who cannot cope with devastating events and give up. Well, I could have given up and ended my life by committing suicide. I do believe that not everybody copes with trauma equally and in my case, I chose to find a solution.

I have grown; I have discovered real peace, contentment, and patience. Actually, I am happier than ever before and my greatest discovery was changing myself. I did not have to change my circumstances, that changed on its own but I did have the power to change myself. As I began to grasp the true meaning of peace, I noticed that all change was from within. Deep within my subconscious and conscious mind, I caught a glimpse of inner peace. I had learned to surrender to the present moment or situation, to embrace whatever is happening by being present, aware, and alert.

It is all thanks to the wonderful spiritual teachers who have generously written books, recorded videos and allow communication to flourish. What I will say, is that the internet is swamped with information and some is so confusing. To find, truthful guidance is not an easy task, it took me months to find genuine teachers. There are millions of con artists operating throughout the world and it is so easy to be caught into their web of deceit. Therefore, my advice to anybody searching for truth is to do research and never pay for information. Keep searching and you will find the guidance you need, and in the meantime, I will share my experiences with you. I sincerely hope that you will enjoy the articles and embrace life.
